Our club and our members organize and participate in many paddling
events and evenings (formal and informal) throughout the paddling
season.
Our club has been operating in the Medicine Hat, Alberta area since
2000 (with a brief break for COVID).
Prior to our current name MEDICINE HAT PADDLING CLUB we
operated as the Chinook Canoe and Kayak Club
Fun and Safety on the Water,
June opening of Echodale Regional Park, Echodale Pond,
a great opportunity for the public to try out
a variety watercraft and learn about water safety.
The Great Big Paddle,
first Saturday in July,
cosponsored with Tourism
Medicine Hat celebrate the opening of the summer season by
joining us in a paddle down the
South Saskatchewan River from Echodale
Park Launch to
Strathcona Island Park Launch. trip

McKay Hat Hat Regatta, the last Saturday in September,
wear your crazy hat(s) and ride down the river from Echodale Park to
Strathcona Island Park trip

On-Water Support
Our club members help out with other on-water events in the area.
We have had a long term relationship with SEASAR the Medicine Hat Massacre
(an iron-man style event in the Cypress Hills)
We also partner with SEASAR to provide added safety to our public

Informal Paddling Events
Our active membership enjoys creek paddles and various river voyage
routes;
full moon paddles and road trips to surrounding areas such as
the Cypress Hills, Bow River at Calgary,
The Milk River and into
southern Saskatchewan. We share in these adventure opportunities through private,
club Social Media.
